Benton County is in a slight risk category for severe storms. A tornado watch is in effect until March 29, 2:00 AM. The National Weather Service out of Memphis has issued the following notice: “Severe thunderstorms containing damaging winds, large hail, and a few tornadoes are possible beginning early this evening through approximately midnight for the entire Mid-South. The greatest threat for severe thunderstorms will exist mainly north of the I-40 corridor.”
